Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB)
The Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) provides Video and Computer Game Software rating information so you can make an informed purchasing decision. ESRB ratings consist of a rating symbol which suggests the appropriate age for the game and a content description which indicates what elements of the game contributed to the rating. In order to take full advantage of the rating, it is important to check both the rating symbol and the content descriptor.
A C rating or early childhood would indicate that the contents are suitable for ages 3 and older. This rating indicates that there is no content that parents would find inappropriate.
An E rating for everyone would be suitable for ages 6 and older containing minimal violence and some comic mischief or crude language.
An E+10 rating is for everyone 10 years of age and older and might contain cartoon fantasy or mild violence, mild language or minimal suggestive themes.
A T rating is suitable for persons 13 years old and older and may contain violent content, mild or strong language and suggestive themes.
An M rating for mature would contain content for persons 17 years of age and older and contain mature sexual themes, more intense violence and strong language.
An A rating contains content suitable only for adults and may include graphic depictions of sex and violence and it is not intended for persons under the age of 18.
An RP rating is a title that has been submitted to the ESRB which is awaiting a final rating.
